Fili x Reader- Oneshot On those days…

A/N: you are a crossbreed between dwarf and human, like in my other fic

All began at night time, as the company was fast asleep, (n) was having quite the painfully dream. And when I say “painfully” I don’t mean mentally, but physically.

She was dreaming some weird things; that lately she won’t remember; when she began to stir in her sleep, she dreamed that she got her period, and it fell so damn realistic! She turned to lay in her stomach, to a comfy position, when her eyes opened with a sudden sensation “down there”.

Without moving too much, and trying to make no sound, she reached for her pack, and rummaged through it to find a change of clothes, as she knew that the moment she got up, her pants will be tainted in red, and her sanitary kit, which had everything a woman in the middle-earth needed to have for these times of the months.

She cursed lowly as she got up, and hurried to the forest, to change her clothes; she will have to wash them as soon as the first lights of the day showed. Changing clothes and getting things settled down there was rather the difficult task as there was no light or a place to really change, so she settled getting behind a huge rock not far from the camp.

The funny thing was that she got the attention of the dwarf that was looking after the camp, and as soon as (n) hurried to the forest cursing lowly, the owner of the only golden mane in the group, followed her.

The only thing that was left for (n) to do, was push her panties and trousers up, when she her footsteps she froze in place, hoping that whoever got up, got up to empty the tank (a.k.a to pee) and go back to sleep.

But the steps kept getting closer to her, and that’s when she heard him calling for her; “(n)?”; Fili whispered into the forest; “Fili!!?”; (n) whispered-shouted at him; “What are you doing here?”; she hissed at him; “I was worried”; Fili said getting closer, but he came to a halt as (n) yelled at him; “Don’t!!”; “What-?”; he took another step toward her; “Don’t come closer!!!”; she shouted embarrassed, trying to pull her clothes up, but her hands didn’t want to cooperate with her.

“(n), are you alright?”; Fili asked, concerned; “Completely fine! But please do not get any closer!!”; she begged at him, now finally able pull her clothes back in place. Fili, found (n) behavior rather strange, so he get closer to her, and when he peered behind the rock, he found her trying hide her other clothes and the kit.

“Filiiiiii”; she hissed when she saw him; “What are you doing here?”; really, can’t a girl have some privacy in the middle of the woods?

(n) trotted pass Fili, fuming angrily, being followed by a more that worried and perplexed young dwarf. When they were standing behind some bushes next to the camp, Fili grabbed her by her shoulder and turned her to look at him.

“What!?”; she asked angry at him; “What the hell’s wrong with you?”; he whispered to her, trying not to wake the other; “Nothing”; she hissed back; thanks to the fire in the camp, Fili could see that (n) didn’t look quite well; “Are you ok?”; he asked now with real concern in his eyes for his “friend”; “Perfectly fine”; she said placing a lock of hair behind her ear.

Fili’s eyes grew wider when he saw that there was blood on (n) hand; “Are you hurt?”; the young dwarf asked now looking at her hand; she looked to and cursed herself for not noticing that she got stained.

“Are you wounded?”; Fili asked looking for some kind of wound through her face; “I’m fine!”; she said quite annoyed; “There’s blood”; he said holding her shoulder so that she couldn’t run away; “I’m fine, really, Fili!!”; she was really, really annoyed now; in the spur of the moment, Fili’s eyes landed in the stained clothes that (n) was trying so desperately to hide.

She followed his sight and pulled herself free from his grasp, only to be held now by both shoulders; “Why’s blood in those clothes? (n), did you wound yourself?”; Fili asked quite worried for her; “Noo!! I’m fine, really!!”; she said lifting her eyebrows exasperated; “It’s normal!!”; that really got the dwarf confused; “Normal?”; “Yeah….”; she said now blushing a bit with a shy and embarrassed look.

Woman, blood, normal, not wounded, woman, normal, normal…. (n) noticed that Fili got was she was referering to, because his face grew a new shade of red, and he released his hold on her quite awkwardly.

“Please, promise me you won’t tell the others”; (n) pleaded embarrassed to not let the other knew that she was on those days; Fili, unable to say anything simply nodded at her and patted her shoulder, before going back to the camp, redder than a tomato.

(n) went to her place to sleep a bit more, as there were still a couple of hours before dawn. But the sleep didn’t come to her, as she was recalling the embarrassing scene again and again; she grunted to herself; “Really!? Fili? Of all the stupid dwarfs it had to be him!! I want to hide in a hole and never come out!!”; (n) thought, when a sudden cramp took her breath, this time it was going to hurt a hell.

As the first lights appeared in the sky, (n) rushed to the river bank with her pack of things, and while taking a super quick bath she washed her clothes. When she got back, Bombur and Bofur were getting the breakfast ready; “Breakfast’s ready!!”; Bofur shouted and the rest of the dwarfs went to get their meals; “Lass, here you go”; Bofur handed cheerfully the food to her, who looked at it with disgust; “I’ll pass”; and she left, leaving the poor dwarf speechless, she never said “no” to food!.

After having breakfast (except (n)); they resumed the journey, (n) stuck by the end of the group, avoiding any kind of contact with the others, she felt so angry at them without a reason!!

The dwarf noticed this sudden change on (n)’s behavior, and they thought it was because she had a bad night; which she actually did, but for very different reasons; there was only one dwarf that knew the truth, but he didn’t knew how to behave around her…..

But there was one who, even thought he didn’t knew how she will react, tried to help her; of course this one was no other than Bilbo. He was as worried for her as the rest, but he was such a fool that without noticing himself, pestered (n) with questions and idly conversations, which were turning her angrier, until she snapped at the poor hobbit.

“I’M FINE! QUIT PESTERING ME!”; she yelled at the hobbit that froze in place with a scared look; “LEAVE ME ALONE”; she growled, when she felt all the eyes on her.

“What’s the matter?”; came Thorin authoritarian voice; Bilbo steeped away from her; “ I- I have no idea, I just… I don’t…”; the hobbit stuttered; “Child, you okay?”; Balin asked her in a soft tone; “I’M PERFECTLY FINE, SO LEAVE ALONE!!”; she yelled, while tears flowed free, making the old dwarf flinch.

Fili tried to get to (n), when everybody saw that she was clutching the clothes tightly around her lower belly, and realization crossed everyone faces (even Kili’s) and their eyes softened at her.

“Why are you giving me that look?”; she asked not liking it a bit; one by one, the dwarfs took her packs and weapons; she couldn’t believe what her eyes were seeing, that’s when Thorin placed his hand firmly on her shoulder and said to her; “(n), if you are not feeling well, say so!”; he made her flinch but added with a softer tone; “We will make a stop at the top of the hill for lunch, so take your time getting there”; and he ordered to continue the march.

She looked around her and went to sit on a rock on the sideway, letting her emotions flow, she was angry at them, but mostly to herself, at how she couldn’t handle the pain or her behavior, she knew they were pitying her for being a female.

She heard some footsteps, and when she looked up, she found a pair of beautiful blue eyes looking concerned for her.

“Have you come to pity me? Because if it’s so you can leave”; she spited angrily at him; “Actually I thought a bit of company will do good”; he said, smiling at her; “They will look down on me now”; she muttered high enough for Fili to hear it, and he kneeled in front of her; “Why would you said that?”; he asked with that half smile that she loved; “Because is the truth! They don’t see me as a warrior! They see me as a poor woman that they have to look after!!”; she started shouting, but Fili didn’t spoke, as he knew she was going to yell for a while (he knew her better than herself, sometimes); “I hate it!! I hate it! I hate it! It’s so unfair….”; she wiped some tears from her eyes and cheeks; “Everything I did to gain their respect as a fellow warrior is gone because I wasn’t born with balls..”; Fili couldn’t help but chuckle at the comment, getting a defiant glare from her; “(n), listen”; he said holding her hands; “They mean well, they were trying to help you, you know, right?”; and she nodded averting her gaze from him; “And let me add that there is no way they’ll forget that you are a great warrior, remember, you won that match with Dwalin”; he let a light laugh leave him and saw how (n) smiled, remembering that day; he reached for her face, and locked eyes with her; “Sooo….”; he went on without knowing what to say, when she pulled softly at one of the braid of his mustache; “I hate it when you’re right”; she pouted as he chuckled lightly getting up, and offering his hand.

The moment (n) got up, a cramp came kicking in and Fili saw her pained expression, so he turned and crouched down; “What are you doing?”; (n) asked a bit amused; “I’m offering you a free piggy back”; Fili said smiling, even thought she couldn't see it; “I’m not dying, you know”; “(nnnnn)”; “Fine”; and she allowed him to carry her.

“Everything okay back there?”; Fili asked, but there was no answer, only (n) hold on him tightening; “Thank you”; (n) whispered so low that she thought that Fili couldn’t hear her, and leaned closer to him, with her head in the crook of his neck.

“You smell nice”; she said snuggling closer to him, making him blush quite a lot; “Really?”; he asked with a smile; “Yeah, it’s calming”; there was a placid silence between them, and Fili thought that she was asleep, until she spoke such a quiet whisper that he couldn’t hear most of it; “I love….”

Really (n), couldn’t you have said it a bit louder for him? Now he doesn’t know if you love his scent or him!! Poor lad…..

Fili soon reached the rest of the company, and they turned to look your way, with soft smiles as Fili mouthed that everything was fine now. At that moment (n) stirred in her sleep, and was half awoken when she heard Kili’s voice; “She looked like she suddenly lost it!! Man, being close to a woman during these days might be frightening!!”

“Fili”; (n) whispered into his ear; “Don’t talk, keep walking, act as if I’m asleep”; and he nodded, wondering to what she was up to; “Walk passing Kili, without stopping got it?”; and he nodded again.

The moment Fili passed his young brother; (n) smacked him on the head, for that stupid comment. Fili couldn’t help but notice that (n) was giggling softly on his back, which made him chuckle, (n) then leaned closer to his face and kissed his cheek as a reward for the well done job, and went to sleep.

No matter who passed Fili next, everyone saw that he was grinning ear to ear, not knowing why the young dwarf was so happy.
