BuckyxReader Nightmares before Birthday Oneshot

Tomorrow is your birthday, and Tony being himself, decided to throw you a super party with everything you wanted.

You are putting on your pajamas while Bucky is “doing something” in the bathroom, and you knew that he was going to take his time, so you took advantage of that and started to search the room for your birthday present.

The only room that you didn’t look was the bedroom, and now was the perfect moment to start the hunt. The wardrobe, empty, the dresser, empty, the side tables, empties, behind the pictures, nothing, inside his bag, nothing, in your bag, nothing.

The last place to look was below the bed; and there you were, on the bed, with half of your body hanging from it and searching that space with a lantern. This is how Bucky found you when he came out.

“Did you think that I would be so stupid to hide your present in this house?”; he asked you, leaning against the door.

“I had to try”; you said getting up from the floor; “Steve?”; you asked lifting an eyebrow.

“Steve”; he said smiling at your putting face.

“Get inside the bed, tomorrow is going to be rough day”; he said slipping into the bed.

“Well? Excuse me? Since when was my birthday a rough day?; you asked offended while getting inside the bed.

“Since Tony decided to throw a whole day birthday party in your honor”; he said grabbing you and getting comfy next to you.

“You are right!..... Tomorrow is going to be a loooong day”; you said turning to face Bucky.

“Nighty!”

“Night”

And you gave him the goodnight kiss.

You were in your birthday party with all your friends when Pepper appeared with your cake, and everyone started to sing the “Happy Birthday” song, less to say that you didn’t know what to do, when you realized that the candles weren’t lighted.

“Ummmh”; you tried to get their attention; “Guys!!”; you said louder than expected and everybody stopped singing; “The candles”; you said pointing at them; “You forgot to light them”; and smiled at this mistake.

“Oh, you’re right”; Tony spoke; “Pepper? What were you thinking?”; he asked looking at her, and so did you.

“Don’t know! The emotion took me and I forgot”; she said giving an apologetic smile.

“At least this have an easy solution”; Tony said getting closer to the cake, when he got in front of you (and the cake) you noticed that he was wearing is suit, “when did he put it on?” you wondered. But your thoughts stopped when he loaded the repulsor and aimed at the cake and at you. You were going to move when he shot and lighted the candles, and also made a hole in your body.

You couldn’t believe he shot you!! You were trying to speak but only blood came from your mouth, and while you collapsed you saw how they didn’t move, they stared at your body, coldly, as if you were the worst criminal. That was the last thing you saw before everything turned black.

You gasped and opened your eyes to be in the middle of the battle against the chitauri, you were surrounded by them, thanks God that Nat, Clint and Bruce, better said Hulk, came to your aid, or so you thought.

They were after you! Clint was shooting at you like crazy and you were trying your best to dodge every shot. Natasha was trying to electrocute you, and she did get you some times. Right now you were hiding of everyone, behind a car, and then you heard the sound of something charging at your direction and the sound of cars smashing at the buildings, Hulk was coming!!

You tried to get up and get out of his way, but you were a bit paralyzed so you couldn’t move as fast as you wanted and Hulk was two cars away. He kept on charging against everything and slammed the car where you were, sending you flying with it.

You were embed in the wall crying from the pain when you saw the car flying toward you. You close your eyes as the car was getting closer and closer, waiting for your death blow. But you didn’t feel it, you didn’t feel anything.

You opened your eyes to find Steve. He was looking at someone, but you could see who. You reached for him, but he didn’t move, he couldn’t hear you, nor see you.

You got closer to him only to hear the sound of a gun and to see how his body felt lifeless to the ground. You hurried at his side but it was too late, he was gone.

You heard steps getting closer to you, and when you lifted your head, your eyes couldn’t believe what they were seeing, the Winter Soldier.

You said his name without realizing it and his eyes landed on you. You couldn’t move from the fear and he took this chance to grab you by the neck with his metal arm. The pressure you felt in your neck was suffocating, but you couldn’t move at all.

You were crying, begging, but all that was futile, he didn’t have compassion in his eyes. The next thing you felt was a deaf sound coming from your stomach, he shot at you without mercy, and as he let go of his grip your conscience began to drift away.

You woke up covered in sweat and trying to catch your breath, it was dawning, and you just had the worst nightmare ever! Trying to calm yourself, you seated on the bed with your hands in your forehead as if you were trying to forget the dream.

With all the movement that you made you ended waking Bucky too.

“(y/n), are you okay?”; he asked straightening up.

“I had the worst nightmare ever”; you said, and a tear escaped from your eye.

He saw it and gently took it off and draws you closer to his chest; “Want to tell?”; he asked hugging you.

You nodded and started talking, when you finished telling him you added; “I don’t want to go to the party, I don’t want Tony to shot me by mistake”; and rubbed your face against his t-shirt.

“If you don’t want to go, then we won’t go it’s your birthday after all”; he said smiling and giving you a reassuring hug.

“And talking about birthdays, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIEPIE!!!”; you chuckled at the nickname he gave you while he got closer to give you your “happy birthday kiss – Bucky edition”.

“It’s a pity that Steve has your present”; you said with a little pout. Said that, Bucky got up from the bed and went to the chair where his jacket was and pulled out of the pocket a little velvet box.

“The jackeeett…..”; you said while face-palming, you forgot to search his clothes!

He went back to the bed and handed you the box while saying; “Happy birthday, again”; and gave you a kiss on the cheek.

When you opened the box you found a little set of three stars hanging from a silver chain.

“Oh my god!! I love it!!! I love you!!!”; you said smiling to the point of crying and started to kiss him like crazy.

“Here, let me put it on”; he offered, and you gave him the pendant while turning; “Done, now let me see”; he said turning you; “You look stunning”; he told you grinning a lot.

“I love you!!”; and you threw yourself over him and started to kiss him; “Best birthday ever”; you said looking at him.

“If we forget about the nightmares”; he added.

“Exactly”; you said while starting to kiss him again.

And that way you had a “Stay at home with your loving boyfriend” kind of party.

“What is taking (y/n) so long to come??”; Tony pouted.

“Maybe there is a traffic jam or something similar”; Bruce said.

“J.A.R.V.IS!!!! Is there a traffic jam around (y/n) house?”; Tony asked at the A.I.

“There is not any kind of conglomeration around miss (y/l) domicile”; the A.I. answered.

“Guys”; said Steve while entering the room; “Bucky called saying that they aren’t coming to the party”; he said tucking his hand inside the pockets.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY’RE NOT COMING??”; Tony yelled slamming his hand on the table.

“It’s seems she had a nightmare and didn’t get enough rest to come to the party”; Steve told everyone.

“SHE THINKS SHE’S BETTER THAN ME!! I DON’T CARE IF SHE DOESN’T COME!! I’M GOING TO PARTY!! WHO’S WITH ME!!”; he yelled looking at the rest of the gang.

“We are already here so why not”; Natasha struggled and Clint nodded in agreement.

“I don’t want to know how this is going to end”; Bruce said massaging his temple.
